Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of postshelf.net. By using the site you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use the service.

Effective 26 August 2026. Previous versions are superseded in full.

1. What the service is

PostShelf is a public gallery of marketing posts published by software products and their founders on X, Instagram, TikTok and Reddit. We catalogue the posts, organise them by product and by account, and display each one using the platform’s own official embed. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any platform or any product featured in the library.

2. Accounts

There is no account system yet: nothing on the site requires signing in, and the log-in and sign-up screens do not create anything. You should be at least 16 years old to use the service. When accounts do arrive, you will be responsible for activity under yours and for keeping your sign-in method secure, creating them by automated means will not be allowed, and we may suspend or close ones that breach these terms.

3. Plans, billing and early access

The service is in early access and everything is free while the library is being built. We are not selling anything yet: no payment is taken anywhere on postshelf.net, and the plans on the pricing page describe what we intend to charge for when billing opens, not a purchase you can make today. We may change what any plan includes before then, with notice on that page.

When paid plans do open, we expect them to work like this, and this section will be restated in the present tense before any money changes hands:

  • Paid plans will renew automatically until cancelled. You will be able to cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the current billing period.
  • Prices are shown exclusive of tax unless stated. Applicable tax will be added at checkout.
  • Payments will be handled by a payment processor; their terms will apply to the transaction itself.

4. Third-party content and embeds

The posts shown on PostShelf were published by third parties and remain theirs. We claim no ownership of them. Each post is rendered by the official embed supplied by the platform, loaded directly by your browser from that platform.

Because of that, your use of the embedded content is also subject to the terms and policies of the platform serving it, and that platform may collect data about you when the embed loads. Section 4 of our Privacy Policy explains what this means in practice. We do not control, endorse or guarantee anything expressed in an embedded post.

We index only content that was publicly available at the time of collection. We do not access private accounts or content behind a login. If a source post is deleted or made private, its embed stops rendering and we remove the record.

5. Our own content

The site design, the catalogue structure, editorial notes, tags and the articles on our blog belong to us. You may quote and link to them with attribution. You may not scrape the catalogue, resell it, or use it to build a competing dataset without written permission.

6. Acceptable use

  1. No automated scraping, bulk downloading, or circumventing rate limits or paywalled sections.
  2. No attempt to de-anonymise, harass, or contact individuals featured in the library through information found here.
  3. No republishing the catalogue, in whole or in substantial part, as your own product.
  4. No interference with the service’s security or availability, and no probing of accounts that are not yours.
  5. No use of the service where doing so would breach a platform’s own terms or any applicable law.

7. Product requests and publication of collected posts

Products are nominated by URL — today through the request form, and, when paid plans open, as part of the Pro plan — and we then collect their public accounts. Everything we collect in response to a request is published to the public library and becomes visible to everyone. A request is a coverage and priority commitment, not a private data feed, and nobody acquires exclusivity over, or ownership of, collected posts by asking for them.

We will not collect an account that is private, and we may decline any request — for example where collection would breach a platform’s terms, or where the target is a private individual rather than a product.

8. Removal requests and copyright

If you are the author of a post, an account holder, or the owner of rights in media that appears in an embed, and you want an entry removed, email hello@postshelf.net with the post URL. We remove entries on request, without requiring a formal notice and without asking for a reason.

DMCA notices

For a formal notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send the following to hello@postshelf.net with the subject line “DMCA”:

  • identification of the copyrighted work and of the material you say infringes it, with the URL on postshelf.net;
  • your name, address, telephone number and email address;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them;
  • your physical or electronic signature.

We respond to valid notices promptly and will pass counter-notices to the original notifier. Repeat infringers are removed from the library.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, including individual features and library entries. Embeds depend on third-party platforms and can fail for reasons outside our control. The service is provided on an as-available basis and we do not promise uninterrupted access.

10. Disclaimers

The service and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in the library or on the blog is business, legal or financial advice. Marketing tactics that worked for one product may not work for yours.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PostShelf is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify PostShelf against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms or of applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time; since there is nothing to sign up for, there is nothing to close — clearing this site’s data in your browser removes everything it kept there. We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms. Sections 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the effective date above. There are no account holders to email yet, so this page is the notice — in particular, the billing terms in section 3 will be updated here before any plan goes on sale. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms, removal requests and DMCA notices all go to hello@postshelf.net. See also our Privacy Policy.
